For over 25 years, Romney Marsh Physiotherapy has been a trusted provider of professional physiotherapy services in New Romney and surrounding areas.
We are an NHS-accredited practice, recognised as an Any Qualified Provider (AQP) since 2011, allowing us to deliver exceptional care to NHS and private patients.
Our clinic is dedicated to evidence-based treatments, focusing on individualised care plans tailored to meet each patient’s unique needs. Our goal is to help you recover, prevent further injuries and improve your overall physical health through expert physiotherapy interventions.
Our physiotherapists are all Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) members and registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). Each clinical team member below brings a wealth of knowledge and experience, ensuring that you receive the highest standard of care.
After qualifying from Brunel University, West London in 2002, Fiona began her career at East Kent Hospitals, working across respiratory, neurology and orthopaedics before specialising in the Outpatients Department treating a variety of Neuromusculoskeletal cases which included Trauma, Orthopaedics, Paediatrics, Rheumatology and Chronic Pain.
She has also worked in sports physiotherapy and hydrotherapy for the Parkinson’s Society.
Fiona incorporates manual and exercise therapy, acupuncture, taping and electrotherapy (including Shockwave) into her treatments and uses a combined approach depending on patient needs.
She joined Romney Marsh Physiotherapy in 2011 and continues to enjoy supporting the local community through high quality physiotherapy care.
Heidi qualified from Guy’s Hospital in 1982 and began her career with a two year rotational post at Westminster Hospital. She later moved to Cape Town, working in a mining hospital where she specialised in traumatic orthopaedics and complex injury rehabilitation.
After returning to London, she entered private practice and became one of the first clinicians to integrate acupuncture with physiotherapy in clinical settings in Wimbledon.
In 1994, she moved to Gloucestershire, taking on a clinical manager role and establishing a sports injury clinic at Winfield Private Hospital. She relocated to Kent in 2000, joining Romney Marsh Physiotherapy Centre, becoming a partner in 2007 and taking ownership in 2018.
With over 40 years of experience, Heidi treats a wide range of musculoskeletal and post-surgical conditions. Her hands-on approach incorporates manual therapy, soft tissue techniques, taping, electrotherapy and personalised rehabilitation plans. With over two decades of acupuncture experience, she uses it to support both acute and long-term recovery. She strongly believes in empowering patients through education.
Heidi is proud to lead such a fantastic team at RMP, delivering a friendly, experienced, patient-focused, and evidence-based service to the Romney Marsh community.
Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, cycling, tennis, swimming and skiing, and values time with her growing family.
Sarah is a chartered physiotherapist with many years of experience treating musculoskeletal conditions. She has worked in NHS and private hospitals, as well as GP surgeries and clinics. She also spent a year in Western Australia working at the Repatriation Hospital in Perth.
Her professional interests include spinal and joint conditions, osteoarthritis, post surgical rehabilitation and sports-related injuries. She has served as resident physiotherapist for the U16 and U18 South Eastern Hockey Championships, the Wolverhampton Marathon and her local rugby team.
Sarah has completed specialist training in women’s health physiotherapy, including treatment for incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, pelvic pain and pregnancy-related joint issues.
She is passionate about staying fit and helping her patients remain healthy so they can continue doing what they love.
Kartik graduated in India in 2003 and began his career working in a multispecialty hospital before pursuing a Master’s degree at the University of Southampton. He joined the NHS in 2007, initially working in the Head Injury Unit in Bath, before moving to Kent and taking on various clinical and leadership positions across the county. He has also worked in multiple private hospitals, including the Spire St Saviours, the Ashford One and KIMS Hospital.
He currently works as a First Contact Practitioner physiotherapist across GP surgeries in the Marsh, Folkestone, Dover and Deal, and has been part of Romney Marsh Physiotherapy since 2015, providing outpatient physiotherapy in New Romney and Folkestone.
Kartik is committed to ongoing learning and skill development, completing formal courses in acupuncture (AACP), joint and soft tissue injection therapy (University of Essex) and advanced MSK physiotherapy (University of Brighton). He is currently completing a point-of-care ultrasound scanning course at Canterbury Christ Church University.
In his spare time, he enjoys travelling, playing cricket in the Kent League, badminton and squash and spending time with his family.
With over 15 years of experience in musculoskeletal physiotherapy, Rocky has supported people of all ages in managing pain, recovering from injuries and returning to the activities they enjoy most. His career began in the NHS, where he worked extensively in physiotherapy and orthopaedics departments, gaining a strong foundation in treating a wide range of MSK conditions.
Over the years, Rocky has treated everything from everyday joint and muscle issues to complex sports injuries. He takes a personalised, hands-on approach, combining clinical expertise with a deep understanding of each patient’s individual needs and goals.
Alongside traditional physiotherapy, he uses a range of advanced skills including manual therapy techniques, acupuncture for MSK pain and joint and soft tissue injections. He has also undertaken specialist training in musculoskeletal ultrasound (MSK sonography), enabling him to perform precise ultrasound-guided injections for effective, targeted treatment.
Whether someone is dealing with a recent injury, chronic pain or wants to improve their movement and function, Rocky is committed to helping them feel better, move better and get back to what matters most.
Sandra Hughes Grad Dip Phys MCSP qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist in 1987 from Kings College Hospital, London. Since then, she has worked across NHS hospitals, GP surgeries, community settings, sports teams and private practice.
Her expertise lies in identifying movement dysfunction at the root of painful conditions, enabling her to resolve persistent issues efficiently. She has extensive experience treating musculoskeletal problems, with a special interest in back, neck and shoulder conditions.
Sandra advocates a manual therapy approach and also has many years of experience using acupuncture to restore pain free movement. She has a particular interest in working with clients experiencing chronic pain, addressing the emotional and physical aspects of wellbeing. She is additionally qualified as a Stress and Anxiety Therapist, helping clients break distress cycles commonly linked to persistent pain.
Sandra teaches clinical Pilates as part of physiotherapy sessions at Romney Marsh Physiotherapy Centre and also delivers group classes in Dymchurch and on Zoom. Details of Pilates Classes can be found at bodymind-solutions.co.uk.
Outside work, she enjoys swimming, dog walking, keeping fit and creative hobbies.
